The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, a passion for numbers, and the ability to work with precision and efficiency.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Record, analyze, and report financial transactions using dual-entry accounting software, such as Abila MIP Fund Accounting.<br>• Verify the accuracy of figures, postings, and financial reports, addressing and correcting discrepancies as necessary.<br>• Input donor and service data into customer relationship management systems like Salesforce, ensuring accuracy and completeness.<br>• Manage accounts receivable processes, including cash receipts and journal entries across multiple funds.<br>• Support cash management activities to ensure financial stability and compliance.<br>• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion.<br>• Participate in annual audit preparations by maintaining organized and accurate documentation.<br>• Create and maintain electronic backups in accordance with established standard operating procedures.<br>• Safeguard sensitive information by adhering to privacy and security protocols.<br>• Contribute to the generation of financial reports and data analysis as required.

  • <p>Reporting to the CEO, the CFO is a key member of the leadership team and is accountable for day-to-day finance and accounting operations. This role leads a small team and ensures accurate, timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP; maintains an effective internal control environment; owns the budgeting and forecasting processes; manages cash flow and banking activities; oversees IT support contracts; and provides regular financial reporting to management and the Board of Directors.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Own the integrity and preparation of financial statements and reports, including income statements, balance sheets, tax filings, and required governmental reports.</li><li>Ensure financial reporting complies with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements; maintain effective internal controls to mitigate fraud and safeguard company assets.</li><li>Lead the annual financial planning cycle, including strategic planning, budget development, forecasting, capital planning, and cash flow projections.</li><li>Deliver regular reporting to the Board of Directors and leadership team on financial performance (actual vs. budget), outlook, and material risks.</li><li>Develop analytical models and scenario plans to support performance improvement, investment decisions, and evaluation of macroeconomic trends.</li><li>Forecast and manage cash flow requirements; partner with lenders to ensure adequate liquidity while minimizing borrowing costs and optimizing investment returns.</li><li>Manage the financial accounts of owners, including gear charges, loan accounts, fish ticket payments, advances, and settlements.</li><li>Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners, including auditors, banking/lending partners, insurance brokers, legal counsel, and tax advisors.</li><li>Oversee risk management and insurance renewal activities to ensure appropriate protection of company assets and operations.</li><li>Oversee company IT activities, including management of the contracted managed service provider (MSP), core systems and infrastructure, future-state planning, and cybersecurity risk mitigation.</li><li>Prepare month-end financial reports and internal management reporting; perform ad hoc analysis to support decision-making.</li><li>Lead, coach, and develop the finance and accounting team; set priorities, leverage strengths, and support professional growth.</li><li>Contribute as a member of the leadership team by providing financial insight, guidance, and business partnership across the organization.</li><li>Occasional travel is required to the Sitka, Alaska location.</li></ul><p>The salary range for this position is $150,000 to $200,000 + discretionary bonus.</p><p><br></p><p>Benefits:</p><p>Medical/Dental</p><p>HSA/HRA</p><p>401k + company match</p><p>2 weeks PTO</p><p>9 paid holidays</p><p>Life Insurance</p><p>STD/LTD</p><p>Profit Sharing opportunity</p>
