  • We are looking for a hands-on Help Desk/Desktop Support Analyst to provide on-site technical support for a higher education environment in Madison, Wisconsin. This Contract position requires someone who is comfortable working five days per week on location, supporting desktop hardware, peripherals, and end-user systems. The ideal candidate will assist with workstation setup, device updates, and day-to-day troubleshooting while delivering responsive support through a structured ticketing process.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Provide on-site desktop and help desk support for staff and users in Madison, Wisconsin, resolving technical issues in a timely and detail-oriented manner.<br>• Install, connect, and configure monitors, Lenovo all-in-one systems, and Dell desktop computers for daily operational use.<br>• Perform routine device updates, including software installations, system patches, and operating system maintenance across supported workstations.<br>• Complete user and computer account updates in Active Directory, including renaming devices and maintaining accurate system records.<br>• Route and organize cabling through desks and workstations to ensure clean, functional, and reliable hardware setups.<br>• Troubleshoot Windows-based desktop issues involving hardware, software, and peripheral connectivity.<br>• Manage assigned service requests and incidents through a ticketing system, documenting work performed and updating ticket status as needed.<br>• Assist with physical workstation moves, equipment handling, and other support tasks that require lifting and transporting desktop hardware.<br>• Verify that newly deployed or updated devices are functioning properly and meet operational standards before handoff to end users.
