This role will focus on restoring accuracy and order to the accounting function, bringing the books current, and creating reliable financial reporting for leadership. The ideal candidate is comfortable stepping into a fast-moving environment with limited documentation and can independently assess issues, prioritize cleanup efforts, and strengthen the month-end close process.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Take ownership of the accounting function by reviewing historical records, identifying gaps, and organizing the general ledger from March to the present.<br>• Lead the catch-up and stabilization of the month-end close process, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and reporting deadlines are met.<br>• Perform detailed bank and balance sheet reconciliations to resolve outstanding discrepancies and improve the integrity of financial data.<br>• Prepare timely and accurate financial statements for management, highlighting key issues that require attention or correction.<br>• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed while helping the existing team manage day-to-day priorities.<br>• Investigate prior manual journal entries and undocumented accounting activity, then determine appropriate corrections and supporting rationale.<br>• Partner with company leadership to prepare the organization for a high-standard financial review by improving documentation, accuracy, and overall readiness.<br>• Contribute accounting guidance within a small manufacturing setting, including transactions related to assemblies and straightforward bill of materials structures.
