This position will provide senior-level financial oversight during a critical period, ensuring sound approvals, accurate reporting, and steady coordination across accounting, budgeting, and governance activities. The ideal candidate brings strong judgment, hands-on leadership in close and budgeting cycles, and the ability to partner effectively with executive leadership, program teams, and board committees.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Provide senior financial authorization across core accounting activities, including payment runs, payroll review, journal entry approval, bank reconciliation oversight, and month-end close signoff.<br>• Manage disbursement activity through electronic payments or check issuance, maintain records of authorized signature stamp usage, and ensure proper review documentation is completed.<br>• Monitor organizational liquidity, assess cash balances regularly, and advise leadership when account transfers are needed to support operating requirements.<br>• Review the controller’s output across accounting operations to confirm accuracy, completeness, and adherence to established financial controls.<br>• Lead the development and completion of program budgets in partnership with finance staff and departmental leaders, then consolidate them into an organization-wide budget for leadership and board review.<br>• Analyze budget variances against approved financial targets, work with stakeholders to resolve gaps, and prepare finalized budget information for system entry and distribution to program leaders.<br>• Direct the June month-end close process, including review of financial statements, reconciliations, and supporting entries, to ensure timely and reliable reporting during the coverage period.<br>• Facilitate recurring financial review discussions with program leadership and prepare materials for Finance Committee and Investment Committee meetings using existing reporting formats and dashboards.<br>• Coordinate the independent audit firm selection process by organizing presentations, supporting committee review, and communicating the final outcome to executive leadership.<br>• Oversee time-sensitive governance and compliance tasks, including renewal filings, investment transfer coordination, trust-related documentation, and other required board or regulatory financial submissions.
