Assistant Controller
<p>Robert Half Management Resources is recuring for an experience Assistant Controller to partner with our client, a rapidly growing electronics manufacturing services (EMS) company with a strong aerospace/defense customer base, to step in during a period of transition and help keep operations steady. As a hands-on finance leader, you will collaborate closely with the Controller and oversee essential accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Manage the monthly close process, including preparing journal entries, completing account reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with U.S. accounting standards.</p><p>• Oversee payroll operations, ensuring accurate processing and compliance with regulations.</p><p>• Supervise and support a small onsite team, including a financial analyst and AR/AP specialists, while providing training and guidance as necessary.</p><p>• Monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable processes, including issuing collection notices and ensuring timely supplier payments.</p><p>• Maintain detailed cost accounting records to track actual costs associated with jobs and customer profitability.</p><p>• Ensure proper tracking of component sourcing and related costs, including verifying tariff expenses tied to U.S.-sourced components.</p><p>• Collaborate on financial strategies to support growth initiatives, including preparation for potential mergers and acquisitions.</p><p>• Utilize Epicor software for accounting entries and system management.</p><p>• Support the Controller in maintaining stable accounting operations during a period of rapid company expansion.</p>
<p>• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.</p><p>• At least 7 years of accounting experience, with a focus on manufacturing environments.</p><p>• Proficiency in monthly close processes, account reconciliations, payroll operations, and U.S. compliance standards.</p><p>• Strong familiarity with Epicor software and advanced Excel skills.</p><p>• Demonstrated ability to manage accounts receivable and accounts payable functions effectively.</p><p>• Experience in cost accounting, job costing, and profitability analysis within a manufacturing setting.</p><p>• Background in the aerospace or defense industry is a plus.</p>
