Controller
We are looking for an experienced Controller to lead accounting operations and provide reliable financial insight for a multi-entity organization in San Fernando, California. This role is responsible for overseeing close processes, financial reporting, cash management, compliance, and team leadership while supporting sound business decisions through analysis and forecasting. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, a hands-on leadership style, and the ability to strengthen controls and improve financial processes in a dynamic environment.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Direct the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close cycles and deliver consolidated financial statements along with management reports that support business performance reviews.<br>• Oversee cash position monitoring, banking activity, and payment execution while maintaining disciplined controls around receipts, disbursements, and overall treasury processes.<br>• Lead and develop the accounting function, providing guidance to team members across core areas such as payables, receivables, and broader day-to-day accounting operations.<br>• Drive the annual budgeting process and recurring forecast updates, using financial results and trend analysis to recommend actions that improve operating performance.<br>• Ensure timely completion of sales tax, payroll tax, and other statutory filings across multiple jurisdictions, and maintain required registrations, licenses, and reporting obligations.<br>• Supervise essential accounting activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll-related entries, inventory accounting, and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.<br>• Establish and refine internal controls, standard operating procedures, and documentation to support accurate reporting and audit readiness.<br>• Coordinate external audit and tax engagements, including support for intercompany activity, transfer pricing documentation, and related financial reviews.<br>• Maintain accounting and reporting platforms while identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, improve accuracy, and enhance the efficiency of finance processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; a CPA or equivalent credential is preferred.<br>• At least 7 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, including 2 or more years serving as a Controller or Assistant Controller.<br>• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, consolidated reporting, and financial oversight in a multi-entity operating environment.<br>• Experience managing tax compliance and regulatory reporting across multiple jurisdictions, including U.S. and international operations.<br>• Proficiency with accounting and financial reporting systems such as Sage or a similar ERP platform, along with advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities.<br>• Demonstrated background in cash flow analysis, consolidated financial reporting, and intercompany accounting.<br>• High level of accuracy, sound judgment, and the ability to manage competing priorities while meeting deadlines.<br>• Experience in manufacturing or distribution settings, including inventory costing, valuation, reserves, or customs-related accounting, is preferred.
