<p><strong>Java Developer (Web Services, Spring, RESTful) – Contractor</strong></p><p><strong>Location:</strong> Onsite Philadelphia, PA </p><p><strong>Employment Type:</strong> 43 Week Contract</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Overview</strong></p><p>Our team is seeking an experienced <strong>Java Developer (IV)</strong> with strong expertise in building large‑scale, enterprise web services using Java, Spring Framework, and RESTful APIs. This role is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining high‑quality software applications that support key business initiatives. The ideal candidate excels in problem-solving, follows established software development methodologies, and can work independently as well as collaborate across teams.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Design, develop, and implement web-based Java applications to support business and operational requirements.</li><li>Create technical design documents and align solutions with established architecture standards.</li><li>Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code following approved SDLC methodologies.</li><li>Perform unit testing, system testing, and support implementation activities.</li><li>Investigate, debug, and resolve complex technical issues across distributed systems.</li><li>Contribute to the design and development of large‑scale Java/Spring Batch/Hadoop applications.</li><li>Ensure performance, reliability, and scalability expectations are met.</li><li>Develop detailed and high-level program specifications and documentation.</li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.</li></ul>

<p><strong>Required Skills &amp; Experience</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience).</li><li>5–8+ years of hands-on software development experience in enterprise environments.</li><li>Strong proficiency in:</li><li><strong>Java (Java 1.7/1.8)</strong></li><li><strong>Spring Framework</strong></li><li><strong>RESTful services</strong></li><li>Jenkins, Gradle, GitHub</li><li>Experience with:</li><li>RabbitMQ</li><li>JSON</li><li>Unix/Linux scripting</li><li>SQL and DB2 databases</li><li>Experience developing applications within large-scale distributed systems.</li><li>Strong analytical skills and the ability to understand business requirements driving technical solutions.</li></ul><p>•<strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Experience with Hadoop or related big data technologies.</li><li>Familiarity with Spring Batch or similar batch-processing frameworks.</li><li>Strong understanding of enterprise integration patterns.</li></ul>
