<p>We are seeking an experienced <strong>Controller</strong> for a <strong>contract opportunity in Connecticut</strong>. This role will provide critical <strong>financial leadership and operational oversight</strong>, supporting the organization’s accounting functions, reporting processes, and internal controls.</p><p>The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, a hands-on approach to financial management, and the ability to guide day-to-day finance operations while helping leadership make informed business decisions.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting</li><li>Provide financial leadership to support business planning, budgeting, and forecasting</li><li>Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements</li><li>Maintain and strengthen internal controls and operational procedures</li><li>Analyze financial results and present insights and recommendations to leadership</li><li>Support cash flow management, account reconciliations, and variance analysis</li><li>Partner cross-functionally with operational leaders to improve processes and drive efficiency</li><li>Assist with audit preparation and coordinate with external auditors as needed</li></ul><p><br></p>
• Proven experience serving in a Controller, Business Manager, or similar senior-level accounting role.<br>• Hands-on working knowledge of the Munis system is required.<br>• Strong background in financial reporting, budgeting, reconciliations, and internal control management.<br>• Ability to manage document control processes, including scanning and compiling records in an organized manner.<br>• Excellent analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.<br>• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.<br>• Proficiency in standard accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
