HR Director
We are looking for an experienced HR Director to lead a comprehensive human resources function that supports institutional goals and fosters a positive employee experience. This role will guide strategy across talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation, benefits, compliance, and workforce development while helping leaders make informed people decisions. The ideal candidate brings strong operational judgment, a deep understanding of employment practices, and the ability to build programs that strengthen organizational effectiveness.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Lead the design and ongoing management of compensation programs that remain competitive, equitable, and aligned with applicable employment regulations.<br>• Shape and oversee employee relations initiatives that encourage trust, accountability, and a constructive workplace culture across the institution.<br>• Direct recruiting and hiring strategies to improve candidate sourcing, selection quality, and overall talent management outcomes.<br>• Partner with internal communications or marketing teams to keep human resources and careers web content current, informative, and accessible for employees and applicants.<br>• Maintain and update job descriptions, employee handbook materials, and other core HR documentation to reflect organizational and legal requirements.<br>• Oversee performance management processes, including guidance for corrective action, coaching conversations, and support for disciplinary or separation decisions when needed.<br>• Manage onboarding, training, and career development programs in collaboration with institutional leaders to support employee growth and departmental effectiveness.<br>• Administer payroll, benefits, unemployment claims, workers’ compensation, and related HR operations while protecting data accuracy, confidentiality, and system integrity.<br>• Monitor compliance with federal and state employment laws, provide guidance to supervisors and senior leadership, and support investigations, reporting, and policy enforcement responsibilities, including Title IX-related matters.<br>• Evaluate HR procedures, trends, budgets, and service delivery metrics to improve efficiency, strengthen data management, and support both short-term priorities and long-range institutional objectives.
<p>• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required; master’s degree preferred.</p><p>• At least seven years of progressive experience in human resources leadership or management roles.</p><p>• Demonstrated expertise in employee relations, compensation, benefits administration, HR compliance, and general human resources operations.</p><p>• Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations, including EEO, ADA, FMLA, and other applicable federal and state requirements.</p><p>• Experience leading recruitment, performance management, onboarding, and staff development initiatives.</p><p>• Ability to manage sensitive investigations, advise leadership on complex personnel matters, and handle disciplinary or termination processes appropriately.</p><p>• Proven skill in overseeing budgets, improving HR processes, and using data or metrics to guide decision-making.</p><p>• HR certification with strong attention to detail is highly preferred.</p><p><br></p><p>For confidential consideration, please reach out to Emily Schneller, Robert Half Recruiting Manager, at 504-264-5922.
