We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Controller to join our client's team in Indianapolis, Indiana. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual who excels in financial management and accounting operations. In this succession planning role, you will have command of the general ledge through month-end close while also overseeing critical financial processes and contribute to the organization's success by ensuring accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities:• Oversee daily accounting operations, including managing the general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and reconciliations.• Supervise the bookkeeper and ensure accurate treasury and cash flow forecasting across multiple legal entities.• Maintain and update the general ledger system and chart of accounts to ensure proper financial tracking.• Prepare and review ledger entries, reconciliations, and monthly financial statements.• Develop procedures to ensure compliance with donor restrictions and regulatory requirements.• Manage fixed asset schedules and reconcile them regularly.• Facilitate timely period closings and assist with regulatory reporting requirements.• Lead the application, tracking, and reporting of government grants and other funding programs.• Assist in annual budget preparation, forecasts, and variance analyses for revenue and expenditures.• Ensure readiness for audits and oversee engagement with external auditors.

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting and financial management. • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is strongly preferred. • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and financial systems such as Bamboo HR and Ramp. • Expertise in month-end closing processes and account reconciliations. • Strong knowledge of general ledger management and fixed asset accounting. • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain internal controls. • Excellent skills in financial reporting and compliance monitoring. • High level of integrity, professionalism, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
