<p><strong>Robert Half</strong> is actively partnering with an Austin-based client to identify an<strong> Applications Developer/Software Engineer (contract).</strong> In this role, you will provide primary support as the subject matter expert for z/OS operating systems and system components; provide direct technical support as needed in the planning, implementation and testing of releases, upgrades, or changes to z/OS operating system, network, and component software. <strong>This role is mostly remote but based in Austin, Tx. You currently must live in Texas to be considered.</strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><p>• provide end user support for assigned Independent Software Vendor (ISV) products such as BlueZone, primary administration and end user support for SCLM, and input and recommendations for hardware capacity planning.</p><p>• Provide primary administrative support for CICS® and IMS™.</p><p>• Diagnose platform, software and related product issues and follow up with root cause analysis.</p><p>• Analyze performance issues and provide input and recommendations for capacity planning.</p><p>• Provide input and recommendations for system-wide performance tuning to meet required levels of service and system parameters and system libraries management.</p><p>• Provide support for technical consultation and inquiries from the other IT technical teams.</p><p>• Provide support as technical lead on internal team projects or participate on project teams that impact the z/OS platform.</p><p>• Provide support for Integration-testing new products with existing applications and user procedures.</p><p>• Assist with maintaining and providing technical support for Mainframe Production Control and Support Jobs and monthly Mainframe Job Scheduler</p>

<p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>5 years' experience with z/OS Systems Programming</li><li>5 years' experience with JES2, z/OS Unix System Services (OMVS), Storage Management Subsystem (SMS)</li><li>3 years' experience with TSS (Top Secret Security)</li><li>3 years' experience with performance monitoring to include initial analysis of performance issues</li><li>2 years' experience with REXX</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred:</strong></p><ul><li>3 years' experience with Informatica Power Exchange Administration</li><li>3 years working knowledge for each of the following: • z/OS Operation • z/OS Networking – VTAM (Virtual Telecommunications Access Method), TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol)</li><li>3 years working knowledge for each of the following: • z/OS-centric automated job scheduling and management software (JOBTRAC) • Terminal Emulator Software (BLUEZONE) • VTAM Session Manager Software (VTAM/SWITCH)</li><li>3 years working knowledge for each of the following: • SMP/E (System Modification Program/Extended) • RMF (Resource Measurement Facility) • SMF (System Management Facility) • WLM (Workload Management) • JCL (Job Control Language)</li><li>3 years working knowledge for each of the following: • GRS (Global Resource Serialization) • VSAM (Virtual Storage Access Method) • TSO (Time Sharing Option)</li><li>3 years' experience with TLS configuration (certificates, SSL – RSA Keys, SFTP, FTPS)</li><li>3 years' experience with SCLM (or other similar configuration management tools), specifically configuration and administration of SCLM</li><li>3 years' experience with CPM for JOBTRAC</li></ul>
