<p><strong>Job Title: Controller (Project Costing / Construction)</strong></p><p>Location: Western North Carolina</p><p>Schedule: Long-Term Contract</p><p>Work Arrangement: Onsite preferred; hybrid considered for the right candidate</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Position Overview</strong></p><p>We are seeking an experienced Renewable Energy Controller for a long-term contract opportunity in the heart of Western North Carolina. This role requires a hands-on financial leader who can hit the ground running in the renewable energy construction space, with particular expertise supporting the building, construction, and operation of solar plants.</p><p>This is a high-impact role for a experienced professional who brings both strong technical depth and the maturity to help guide an immature team, establish structure, and build out the financial toolbox needed for long-term success. The ideal candidate will have a heart of a teacher and be comfortable operating at both a strategic and tactical level.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Lead the accounting and financial oversight for renewable energy construction projects, with a focus on solar plant construction and operations</li><li>Manage project costing and oversee budget-to-actual analysis across active construction projects</li><li>Administer and review the construction draw process, including coordination with project teams, lenders, and external stakeholders</li><li>Support and improve the overall accounting processes related to construction projects and renewable energy operations</li><li>Partner with leadership in a Controller / CFO capacity, helping drive financial decisions and operational discipline</li><li>Work closely with lenders and financing partners on construction draws, reporting, and compliance requirements</li><li>Develop, refine, and implement financial tools, controls, and processes to support a growing organization</li><li>Provide leadership and mentorship to team members by helping build capabilities, structure, and best practices</li><li>Serve as a key decisionmaker related to project financials, construction accounting, and reporting</li></ul>
<p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Significant experience in the renewable energy industry, specifically within the construction side of the business</li><li>Strong background supporting the construction, buildout, and/or operation of solar plants</li><li>Demonstrated experience with project costing, construction accounting, and budget-to-actual reporting</li><li>Proven ability to step into a developing environment and provide immediate, practical leadership</li><li>Experience operating at a Controller or CFO level</li><li>Strong understanding of accounting processes within a construction-driven environment</li><li>Ability to make sound financial decisions and provide leadership in a fast-moving setting</li><li>Experience with SAGE Intacct a plus!</li></ul><p><br></p><p><br></p>
