Reconciliations Accountant - short term contract

Robert Half are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Reconciliations Accountant to support a finance clean-up project in Basildon. This is a 4-week temporary assignment with the potential to extend.The successful candidate will play a key role in resolving historical accounting discrepancies, with a strong emphasis on intercompany reconciliations and bringing structure to previously unreconciled accounts.<h3 data-start="716" data-end="744">Key Responsibilities</h3><ul data-start="746" data-end="1146"><li data-end="814" data-start="746">Perform detailed reconciliations across multiple ledger accounts</li><li data-end="862" data-start="815">Investigate and clear unreconciled balances</li><li data-start="863" data-end="929">Focus heavily on intercompany mismatches and discrepancies</li><li data-end="977" data-start="930">Review historic postings and correct errors</li><li data-start="978" data-end="1018">Support month-end tidy-up activities</li><li data-start="1019" data-end="1088">Document findings and provide supporting reconciliation schedules</li><li data-start="1089" data-end="1146">Drive accuracy and integrity across financial records</li></ul><h3 data-start="1153" data-end="1170">About You</h3><ul data-start="1172" data-end="1565"><li data-end="1243" data-start="1172">Demonstrable experience in account reconciliation & ledger clean-up</li><li data-start="1244" data-end="1303">Understanding of intercompany accounting principles</li><li data-start="1304" data-end="1370">Comfortable working with messy data and incomplete information</li><li data-end="1437" data-start="1371">Strong Excel skills and hands-on accounting systems experience</li><li data-end="1491" data-start="1438">Highly analytical with strong attention to detail</li><li data-end="1565" data-start="1492">Available for immediate start & able to commute to Basildon full-time</li></ul><h3 data-end="1602" data-start="1572">Additional Information</h3><ul data-start="1604" data-end="1773"><li data-end="1623" data-start="1604">Start: ASAP</li><li data-end="1671" data-start="1624">Location: Basildon (fully office-based)</li><li data-end="1708" data-start="1672">Rate: £15-£18 per hour (DOE)</li><li data-end="1773" data-start="1709">Duration: 4 weeks (extension likely depending on progress)</li></ul>Robert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
