Staff Accountant
<p>We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Brampton, Ontario. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced wholesale distribution environment and has a keen eye for detail. You will play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting month-end processes, and ensuring efficient management of accounts.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><ul><li>Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.</li><li>Perform bank reconciliations to maintain financial integrity and resolve discrepancies.</li><li>Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.</li><li>Assist with month-end closing procedures, including financial reporting and account analysis.</li><li>Utilize ERP solutions to streamline accounting processes and maintain accurate records.</li><li>Apply advanced Microsoft Excel skills to analyze and organize financial data.</li><li>Monitor and maintain the accuracy of debits and credits, understanding their impact on financial statements.</li><li>Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth and efficient financial operations.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or a related field.</li><li>Proficiency in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.</li><li>Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and journal entries.</li><li>Familiarity with month-end close procedures and financial reporting.</li><li>Experience working with ERP systems to manage financial data.</li><li>Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and data analysis.</li><li>Solid understanding of debit and credit principles and their impact on financial records.</li><li>Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.</li></ul>
