Part Time Controller
<p><strong>Part-Time Interim Controller / Finance Consultant</strong></p><p> <strong>Location:</strong> Kitchener/Waterloo, ON</p><p> <strong>Work Model:</strong> 3 days onsite</p><p> <strong>Duration:</strong> 2 Months </p><p><strong>Overview:</strong></p><p> Our manufacturing and distribution client, is seeking a hands-on Controller / Finance Consultant. This part-time assignment is focused on improving the quality and timeliness of month-end reporting, assessing the current team structure, and strengthening accounting processes and controls.</p><p>This role is ideal for someone with manufacturing experience who can step in quickly, evaluate the existing function, and actively help get the work done.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Support the full month-end close process and help reduce reporting timelines</li><li>Review accounting workflows to ensure financial results are accurate, complete, and timely</li><li>Assess current team capabilities, identify gaps, and recommend improvements or restructuring as needed</li><li>Strengthen processes, procedures, and internal controls across the accounting function</li><li>Partner directly with the owner to improve reporting quality and provide greater confidence in financial information</li><li>Brings a practical, hands-on style and is comfortable handling both strategic and day-to-day responsibilities. </li><li>Work within QuickBooks and inventory management systems to improve overall reporting effectiveness</li><li>Remain hands-on in the day-to-day accounting work while guiding improvements</li></ul><p><br></p>
<p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Previous experience in an Accounting Manager, Controller, or similar hands-on finance leadership role</li><li>Manufacturing experience required; distribution exposure is also an asset</li><li>Strong background in month-end close, financial reporting, and process improvement</li><li>Comfortable working in a smaller company environment with a developing team</li><li>Experience assessing accounting staff and making practical recommendations</li><li>QuickBooks experience preferred; inventory system exposure is an asset</li><li>Able to work onsite in Kitchener/Waterloo, 3 days per week</li></ul><p><strong>Apply:</strong></p><p> To learn more or express interest, please contact Robert Half.</p>
