Controller
<p>We are looking for an experienced Controller to join a growing team in Waterloo, Ontario on a Contract basis. This position is ideal for a hands-on, detail-oriented finance specialist who can oversee core accounting activities while ensuring accurate reporting across the business. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining timely month-end processes, supporting financial operations, and meeting government reporting obligations.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Lead day-to-day accounting operations, including oversight of accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.</p><p>• Prepare accurate monthly financial results and coordinate all month-end close requirements within established timelines.</p><p>• Produce financial statements and internal management reports that support decision-making and operational planning.</p><p>• Complete federal and provincial reporting requirements, ensuring submissions are accurate and filed on time.</p><p>• Review account reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies to maintain reliable financial records.</p><p>• Support cash flow monitoring and help maintain effective financial controls across accounting processes.</p><p>• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve reporting accuracy, streamline workflows, and strengthen finance operations.</p>
<p>• Demonstrated experience in a Controller or senior-level accounting position with hands-on responsibility for full-cycle finance functions.</p><p>• Strong background in financial reporting, management reporting, and month-end close activities within a Not for profit.</p><p>• Practical knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting operations.</p><p>• Experience preparing and submitting government-related reporting at both federal and provincial levels.</p><p>• Proven ability to analyze financial information, identify issues, and deliver accurate results under deadlines.</p><p>• Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail and accountability.</p><p>• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.</p>
