We are looking for a Sr. Financial Analyst to join a transport organization in Toronto, Ontario on a Long-term Contract basis. This role will support enterprise planning, performance analysis, and management reporting by translating financial data into clear business insights. The successful candidate will work closely with leadership and cross-functional partners to strengthen forecasting accuracy, improve reporting practices, and support informed decision-making across the organization. Responsibilities: • Lead the preparation and presentation of annual budgets, recurring forecasts, and profitability reviews for business segments. • Build and maintain financial models covering income statements, balance sheets, cash flow, and equity projections for short- and long-range planning. • Support the rollout and ongoing use of the corporate performance management platform across the enterprise, including Vena Solutions. • Investigate monthly results against budget and prior-year performance, identify key drivers, and communicate findings with business partners. • Monitor capital spending, update expenditure forecasts, and highlight financial risks and potential opportunities to stakeholders. • Prepare monthly and quarterly management reporting by analyzing financial data, identifying trends, and summarizing insights for senior leadership. • Partner with leaders on profitability assessments, KPI development, and evaluation of strategic initiatives that influence business performance. • Maintain alignment with finance governance and control requirements, including purchase order oversight and spending mapped to budgeted general ledger accounts. • Coordinate with City of Toronto finance contacts to deliver timely financial statements, supporting schedules, and other required analyses. • Contribute to process improvement initiatives, ad hoc financial analysis, and other assignments that enhance reporting quality and operational efficiency.

• Post-secondary education in finance, commerce, accounting, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience. • At least 3 years of experience in financial analysis, with strong exposure to modelling, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. • Demonstrated ability to create and interpret detailed financial models and translate results into actionable recommendations. • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with senior stakeholders. • High attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently while producing accurate, high-quality analysis. • Confidence to question assumptions, identify improvement opportunities, and recommend practical solutions in a thoughtful manner. • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, along with experience using financial and reporting tools such as SAP, Vena Solutions, CRM platforms, Confluence, or Crystal Reports.
