Financial Analyst
We are looking for a skilled Financial Analyst to join our team on a contract basis in Toronto, Ontario. This role involves contributing to monthly and annual financial processes, ensuring accuracy in reporting, and supporting the accounting department's daily operations. If you thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and have a passion for financial analysis, we encourage you to apply.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Assist in preparing month-end financial reports and ensure timely submission.<br>• Create year-to-date financial statements and reports for regional governments.<br>• Draft and post journal entries while reconciling accounts to maintain accuracy.<br>• Support the development of monthly financial statements and perform variance analyses.<br>• Conduct detailed reviews of general ledger accounts and financial statements.<br>• Perform revenue recognition tasks, funds analysis, and complete government documentation.<br>• Maintain and update year-end audit schedules to streamline the audit process.<br>• Reconcile investments on a monthly and annual basis to ensure financial integrity.<br>• Prepare and post payroll-related journal entries accurately.<br>• Handle additional assignments as directed by the Finance Manager.
• Completion or near completion of post-secondary education, preferably with an accounting designation.<br>• Minimum of three years of experience in financial accounting, auditing, or budgeting; not-for-profit sector experience is an asset.<br>• Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting techniques, and research methodologies.<br>• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate findings effectively.<br>• Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.<br>• Self-motivated and able to work independently while aligning with organizational goals.<br>• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, macros, lookup functions), Microsoft Business Central, Word, and PowerPoint.<br>• Demonstrated interest in process improvement and innovation in financial operations.
