We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Intermediate Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Richmond, British Columbia. In this role, you will support the finance department by handling critical accounting tasks, including month-end processes, financial reporting, and reconciliations. Responsibilities: • Prepare and review journal entries to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. • Reconcile intercompany accounts across multiple entities and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. • Assist with month-end close activities, including the preparation of financial statements and variance analysis. • Compile and analyze data to support external audits and year-end financial reporting. • Maintain and update existing financial models in Excel, ensuring all formulas are accurate and functional. • Conduct reconciliations of bank accounts and other financial records to ensure accuracy and completeness. • Collaborate with line managers to secure necessary approvals for financial processes. • Support the preparation and presentation of profit and loss statements, providing insights on variances. • Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies during all financial processes. • Proactively identify areas for improvement in accounting processes and suggest solutions.

• A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in accounting, preferably within a manufacturing environment.• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to analyze and interpret complex formulas.• Hands-on experience with accounting software, such as Dynamics GP.• Demonstrated ability to prepare financial statements and perform variance analysis.• Solid understanding of intercompany accounting and reconciliations.• Excellent analytical skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.• Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines during month-end close processes.• Progress toward an accounting designation is considered an asset.
