<p>Robert Half Management Resources is looking for an experienced Controller to join a well-respected organization in Ottawa, Ontario. This position is suited to a finance specialist who can provide strong leadership, improve accounting operations, and support accurate, timely financial reporting. The successful candidate will bring a practical approach to strengthening controls, guiding staff, and keeping core finance processes running smoothly.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><p>• Lead daily accounting operations and provide direction to finance staff to ensure work is completed accurately and on schedule.</p><p>• Review existing financial processes and introduce improvements that increase efficiency, consistency, and control across accounting activities.</p><p>• Oversee month-end and year-end close procedures, ensuring reconciliations, journal entries, and reporting are finalized within required timelines</p><p>• Manage payroll-related financial processes and confirm that associated records and payments are processed correctly</p><p>• Prepare budgets, monitor financial results against plans, and deliver analysis to support business decision-making</p><p>• Produce regular and ad hoc financial reports using available accounting systems and reporting tools, including support for management requests</p><p>• Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting procedures, and documentation to support compliance and sound financial management</p><p>• Work with accounting software platforms and related business systems to support reporting accuracy and effective financial operations</p>
<p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><p>• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, including leadership responsibility</p><p>• Demonstrated ability to supervise staff and coordinate multiple accounting functions in a fast-paced environment</p><p>• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, payroll, month-end close, and year-end close activities</p><p>• Experience working with accounting software systems and business tools such as ADP, CRM platforms, and reporting applications</p><p>• Solid understanding of accounting controls, standard procedures, and process improvement methods</p><p>• Ability to prepare clear financial analysis and respond effectively to ad hoc reporting requests</p><p>• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders across the organization</p><p><br></p><p>If you hold the required qualifications and feel you are the right fit for this roles, please contact us today or apply online!</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Job Reference Number: </strong>0013488499</p>
