Controller
We are looking for a hands-on Controller to oversee financial operations for a growing organization in London, Ontario. This position will guide accounting, reporting, budgeting, cash management, and internal controls across several business units while supporting accurate, compliant, and efficient financial practices. The successful candidate will work closely with operational leaders to deliver meaningful analysis, strengthen financial processes, and contribute to informed business decisions in a fast-paced environment.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Collaborate with operational and leadership teams to provide financial insight that supports business decisions, profitability, and performance improvement.<br>• Direct the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results across multiple entities, ensuring reporting is complete, accurate, and timely.<br>• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and rolling cash flow planning activities while monitoring liquidity and working capital needs.<br>• Review financial performance, explain variances, and identify opportunities related to cost management, pricing, and margin improvement.<br>• Oversee core accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, inventory accounting, and general ledger activities.<br>• Strengthen internal controls and promote consistent accounting policies, reconciliations, and intercompany processes across all business units.<br>• Support contract evaluation, deal analysis, and financial risk assessment to help the organization make sound commercial decisions.<br>• Coordinate year-end requirements by preparing working papers and liaising with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.<br>• Drive improvements to financial systems, reporting structures, and process efficiency, including the implementation and optimization of accounting tools and integrations.<br>• Manage compliance activities, including government remittances and applicable beer and spirits tax filings, calculations, and reporting obligations.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.<br>• Accounting designation such as CPA or an equivalent recognized credential.<br>• At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including responsibility for leading finance or accounting staff.<br>• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.<br>• Experience working with multiple entities, complex accounting environments, or diverse revenue streams.<br>• Proficiency with accounting software and financial reporting systems.<br>• Demonstrated ability to support payroll, government remittances, treasury activities, and banking relationships.<br>• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to partner effectively with operational leaders.
