Sr. Accountant
<p>Our client in Edmonton is seeking a highly skilled <strong>Senior Accountant </strong>to join their dynamic team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in accounting principles and intermediate proficiency in Excel. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing insightful analysis to support strategic decision-making.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Manage all aspects of the accounting cycle, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.</li><li>Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.</li><li>Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.</li><li>Conduct variance analysis and provide recommendations to optimize financial performance.</li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning initiatives.</li><li>Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.</li><li>Assist with audits and tax filings as needed.</li><li>Mentor and support junior accounting staff.</li><li>Ad-hoc duties as requested.</li></ul>
