<p>We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our client’s team in Burnaby, British Columbia. This is a 3-month temp-to-perm role, starting 100% on-site for the initial two months, and moving to a hybrid schedule (3 days per week on-site) thereafter. The position sits within the wholesale distribution industry and requires strong analytical and technical expertise. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in supporting financial operations, overseeing reconciliations, and ensuring accurate reporting for multiple retail locations.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Review monthly income statements for 29 retail locations, including 15 corporate and 14 associate stores.</p><p>• Prepare adjusting journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.</p><p>• Support half-year-end closing activities, ensuring all tasks are completed by the deadlines.</p><p>• Conduct variance analyses by comparing budgets to historical data using a floating year-end approach.</p><p>• Reconcile head office accounts and provide detailed reviews of balance sheet accounts.</p><p>• Perform gross margin analysis, inventory assessments, and identify inventory shrinkage.</p><p>• Ensure payroll reconciliation aligns with accounting standards, including vacation balance adjustments.</p><p>• Manage month-end and year-end closings within established timelines of 10 days and 15 days, respectively.</p><p>• Oversee and guide a team of four retail accountants to ensure smooth financial operations.</p>
