<p>We are looking for a detail-oriented Human Resources (HR) Assistant to support daily administrative and employee-related activities in Rockford, Illinois. This is a contract position suited for someone who is comfortable managing sensitive records, responding to frequent phone inquiries, and keeping documentation organized in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong office software skills, sound judgment when handling confidential information, and the ability to maintain accuracy across a high volume of tasks.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Respond to a large number of incoming calls and direct questions to the appropriate HR contacts with professionalism and accuracy.</p><p>• Maintain and process sensitive employee documents while safeguarding confidential personal information.</p><p>• Prepare, organize, and file substantial amounts of paperwork to support ongoing HR operations.</p><p>• Convert physical records into electronic files and ensure digital documentation is complete, accurate, and easy to retrieve.</p><p>• Assist with retirement-related administrative work, including gathering required documentation such as death certificates for 401(k) matters.</p><p>• Provide administrative support during open enrollment periods by helping manage forms, records, and employee communications.</p><p>• Keep HR files current and well-structured to improve document tracking and audit readiness.</p>
