The Accounting Manager will report into the CFO and be responsible for the review of Payables and Receivables, and a variety of hands on accounting tasks including:<br>• Help and assist with all general ledger activity, month-end and year-end close processes for multiple entities<br>• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.<br>• Maintain chart of accounts and ensure consistent coding across all departments and cost centers<br>• Administer payroll processing, ensuring accuracy for both W-2 employees and 1099 contractors.<br>• Monitor banking activity, and perform bank reconciliations<br>• Assist with annual benefit and insurance renewals and open enrollment. Providing HR support for employees in coordination with CFO.<br>• Monthly posting, review and reconciliation of intercompany activity.<br>• Assist with maintaining and strengthening internal controls framework, documenting policies and procedures for accounting operations.<br>• Oversee renewal of business license and tax obligations – City, State, and personal property tax filings<br>• Identify opportunities to improve workflow efficiency through automation, system enhancements, or process redesign.<br>• Maintain data integrity across all financial systems and ensure reconciliation between platforms as needed.<br>• Assist with the training and development of accounting team members including staff accountants, bookkeepers, and AR/AP clerks.<br>• Assist with fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development within the accounting department.<br>Education & Credentials<br>• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required<br>• Masters Degree in Accounting Preferred<br>• Equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience may be considered<br>• Minimum 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role<br>• Strong command of QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, or comparable general ledger software<br>• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, financial modeling)<br>• Solid understanding of GAAP accounting principles and real estate industry practices<br>• High attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines<br>• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach<br>• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to translate financial data for non-financial audiences<br>• Demonstrated integrity and discretion in handling confidential financial information<br>• Collaborative leadership style with the ability to build and motivate a high-performing team<br>This is a great opportunity for a Senior Accountant looking for the next step in their career. Katie Weigel with Robert Half Finance and Accounting is seeking an experienced professional to fill the role of Payroll / HR administrator for a medium-sized company in the Reno area.<br><br>The role will be responsible for payroll and HR support, and some bookkeeping for the US operations of an international dance footwear and apparel company. The US operations include warehouse, corporate and retail operations with at approximately 80 employees and growing. The Company plans to open several new stores with a new product line, over the next two years. <br><br>This role includes the full cycle of Human resources and payroll processing for two companies including preparing payroll to be processed by a third-party payroll administrator, administration of Human Resources functions including onboarding new employees, compensation and benefits such as health and welfare benefits, a 401k plan and workers’ compensation.
