This is a hands on role responsible for the day to day accounting, grant activity, reporting and compliance for the organization. There is a consulting CFO working on a very part time basis, otherwise this person leads the accounting and finance function for the organization. The organization is in great shape currently in terms of tremendous growth in their grant funding, and has a solid accounting structure as well (great monthly checklist, just got through their audit, etc.) Day to day this person will do about 75% accounting and 25% strategic finance such as budgeting, forecasting, treasury and board reporting. The accounting includes: Manage grant accounting and supervise accounting operations; responsibility for the preparation of financials, cash management, balance sheet reconciliation; annual audit; and ensuring proper internal controls, and compliance with GAAP accounting standards.
