- <p>Robert Half is building relationships with experienced Backend Software Engineers interested in potential opportunities supporting financial technology platforms, payment processing systems, and enterprise transaction services.</p><p>We are looking to connect with engineers who understand the challenges of building systems where security, reliability, and transaction accuracy are essential.</p><p>The ideal professional has extensive experience developing Java-based applications, designing distributed systems, and supporting backend services that handle high-volume financial transactions.</p><p>Relevant client projects may include payment processing modernization, transaction reconciliation, API development, and cloud-based financial services infrastructure.</p><p>What You'll Be Responsible For</p><ul><li>Architect, develop, and maintain backend services using Java and the Spring Boot framework.</li><li>Design secure RESTful APIs supporting payment transactions, account services, and third-party financial integrations.</li><li>Develop microservices that process large volumes of transactions while maintaining accuracy and system availability.</li><li>Build event-driven applications using Apache Kafka or comparable messaging platforms.</li><li>Implement transaction idempotency, retry mechanisms, and error-handling strategies to prevent duplicate or inconsistent processing.</li><li>Design and optimize PostgreSQL or other relational databases, including queries, indexes, and transactional operations.</li><li>Support payment settlement, reconciliation, and audit-trail functionality.</li><li>Diagnose performance bottlenecks involving database operations, service communication, and asynchronous workloads.</li><li>Implement authentication, authorization, encryption, and secure coding practices for sensitive financial information.</li><li>Contribute to deployment processes using Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure.</li><li>Improve application observability through centralized logging, metrics, distributed tracing, and alerting.</li><li>Collaborate with product owners, security teams, quality engineers, and technical architects on service design and delivery.</li><li>Mentor less experienced engineers, review code, and participate in architectural decision-making.</li></ul><p><br></p>
