Job Summary:<br>The Industrial Applications Developer thrives at the intersection of manufacturing operations and <br>modern software engineering. This role is ideal for someone who understands how factory floors <br>actually run and can translate that into robust, scalable digital solutions. You’ll work closely with <br>operations, engineering, and IT teams to build and integrate applications that streamline production, <br>connect equipment, and enhance data visibility across the enterprise. They work with stakeholders <br>to determine the needs of the business and create custom solutions to meet those needs. They must <br>understand different programming languages, have an eye for design, and be skilled in problemsolving.<br>Essential Functions:<br>Application Development & Integration<br>• Design, develop, and maintain industrial applications using C# and Java.<br>• Build and support integrations between manufacturing systems and ERP platforms (SAP, <br>Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).<br>• Develop middleware and data pipelines to ensure reliable, real-time information flow <br>across systems.<br>Industrial Connectivity & Protocols<br>• Implement communication interfaces using industrial protocols such as MODBUS <br>(TCP/RTU) and MQTT.<br>• Integrate shop-floor equipment, PLCs, sensors, and SCADA/MES systems into enterprise <br>applications.<br>• Troubleshoot communication issues between hardware and software systems.<br>Manufacturing Systems Support<br>• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to understand process requirements <br>and translate them into technical solutions.<br>• Enhance system reliability, performance, and usability for manufacturing operations.<br>• Support continuous improvement initiatives by developing tools that optimize workflows, <br>reduce downtime, and improve data accuracy.<br>Architecture & Best Practices<br>• Contribute to system architecture decisions and ensure solutions follow best practices for <br>scalability, security, and maintainability.<br>• Write clean, well-documented code and participate in code reviews.<br>• Maintain version control, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing where applicable.<br>Qualifications & Experience:<br>Education, Training & Professional Experience:<br>• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field—or equivalent <br>practical experience.<br>• Strong programming skills in C# and Java.<br>• Hands-on experience in manufacturing environments, including exposure to production <br>processes and industrial equipment.<br>• Proven experience integrating with ERP systems and understanding of common ERP data <br>structures.<br>• Practical knowledge of MODBUS, MQTT, and other industrial communication protocols.<br>• Experience with relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc.).<br>• Ability to troubleshoot complex system interactions across hardware, software, and <br>network layers.<br>Knowledge & Employment Standards:<br>• Experience with MES, SCADA, or IIoT platforms.<br>• Familiarity with OPC UA, REST APIs, or message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ).<br>• Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).<br>• Understanding of cybersecurity principles in industrial environments.<br>• Experience working in Agile development environments.
