Looking for a hands-on Controller in the Glastonbury area! This role involves overseeing all aspects of accounting functions, including payroll, banking, and general accounting. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing monthly financial statements, directing and coordinating all accounting functions, budgeting, forecasting and providing ownership with vital information for decision-making processes. Responsibilities• Oversee and direct all accounting functions, including payroll and banking• Prepare and present monthly consolidated financial statements and directors’ reports• Review and approve divisional work papers supporting the monthly closing process• Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures across divisions• Conduct monthly analytical review of financial statements, identifying and explaining major changes• Provide vital information to ownership for decision-making processes• Assist in business development and acquisitions• Develop and monitor business performance metrics and KPIs• Evaluate the effectiveness of accounting software and related databases as needed• Oversee regulatory corporate compliance reporting• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations• Interface with insurance brokers on policy renewals• Oversee compliance with all tax reporting, including payroll, property, sales, and income tax.
