IT Support Specialist
<p><strong>Reports to: IT Manager</strong></p><p><strong>Job Type: Full-time | On-site</strong></p><p><strong>Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:45 AM – 4:15 PM (with some flexibility as needed)</strong></p><p> </p><p><strong>Position Summary</strong></p><p>The IT Assistant plays a key role in supporting the daily technology operations within a dynamic</p><p>Pre-K–12 educational environment. This position ensures the smooth functioning of classroom</p><p>and administrative technologies by providing technical support, troubleshooting devices, and</p><p>assisting staff and students with their technology needs.</p><p> </p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><p>• Provide technical support to staff, faculty, and students for hardware, software, and</p><p>network issues.</p><p>• Troubleshoot and resolve problems with classroom devices, including Smart Boards,</p><p>Windows and Mac laptops, iPads, projectors, and the school phone system.</p><p>• Assist with network security, user account setup, and permission management.</p><p>• Support device inventory, deployment, and asset management, including check-in/checkout systems.</p><p>• Assist with technology setup for school events and presentations.</p><p>• Perform regular system updates and patches to maintain performance and security.</p><p>• Communicate effectively with non-technical users and provide basic training when needed.</p><p>• Test new software and hardware configurations prior to full deployment.</p><p>• Maintain accurate documentation of issues, resolutions, and procedures in the IT ticketing</p><p>system.</p><p>• Coordinate with third-party vendors as needed.</p><p>• Provide support for school data management tasks.</p><p>Requirements & Qualifications</p><p>• High school diploma required; Associate’s degree in IT or related field preferred.</p><p>• Basic knowledge of Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android environments.</p><p>• Familiarity with Microsoft 365.</p><p><br></p>
<p>• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or collaboratively.</p><p>• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, especially when working with young</p><p>learners and staff.</p><p>• Ability to lift and transport equipment (up to ~30 lbs.).</p><p>• Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.</p><p>Preferred Skills</p><p>• Experience working in an educational setting.</p><p>• Understanding of child-friendly digital safety practices.</p><p>• Knowledge of data management processes.</p>
