Controller
We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team on a contract basis in South Jordan, Utah. The ideal candidate will bring extensive expertise in automotive dealership accounting, financial statement preparation, and vehicle titling processes. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational and problem-solving skills, ready to thrive in a fast-paced environment.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger activities, payroll, and inventory reconciliation.<br>• Prepare and deliver accurate financial statements and reports for dealership management review.<br>• Supervise all aspects of vehicle titling processes, ensuring compliance and resolving any documentation or submission issues.<br>• Leverage dealership management systems for accounting tasks; familiarity with Dealertrack is highly advantageous.<br>• Maintain adherence to automotive industry regulations and internal financial controls.<br>• Oversee cash management processes, including banking activities and reconciliations.<br>• Collaborate with sales, service, and parts departments to streamline financial procedures and reporting.<br>• Provide training, mentorship, and support to the accounting team to enhance performance.<br>• Assist with audits, budget preparation, forecasting, and specialized financial projects.<br>• Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end close processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.<br>• Proven experience as a Controller or Senior Accountant within an automotive dealership.<br>• Hands-on knowledge of vehicle titling processes in a dealership environment.<br>• Expertise in preparing and analyzing financial statements and reports.<br>• Familiarity with Dealertrack or similar dealership management systems is preferred.<br>• Comprehensive understanding of automotive accounting principles and industry compliance.<br>• Exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.<br>• Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work independently in a dynamic setting.
