Assistant Controller
We are looking for an Assistant Controller to support manufacturing finance operations across a multi-plant campus in Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin. This role partners closely with plant leadership to strengthen financial visibility, improve cost performance, and support sound operational decisions in a fast-moving production environment. The ideal candidate brings strong cost accounting experience, a practical leadership approach, and the ability to translate financial data into clear guidance for cross-functional teams.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Partner with plant leaders, supervisors, and frontline teams to build strong working relationships and support financially informed decision-making across operations.<br>• Lead core month-end close activities for plant operations, ensuring results are accurate, well-documented, and communicated clearly to key stakeholders.<br>• Analyze manufacturing and cost data to identify trends, explain performance drivers, and recommend practical actions to improve results.<br>• Develop and refine reporting tools and dashboards that turn complex financial information into clear, useful insights for operational teams.<br>• Support budgeting and forecasting processes for the campus plants by maintaining consistent methods and helping leaders plan effectively.<br>• Track cost-reduction initiatives and monitor progress against savings targets for both current performance and future planning cycles.<br>• Evaluate operational and capital investment opportunities by providing financial analysis on plant impact, productivity improvements, and expected returns.<br>• Strengthen product costing, inventory accuracy, and financial controls by helping implement effective procedures and standardized practices.<br>• Provide day-to-day financial guidance and informal leadership to operations partners while promoting accountability and continuous improvement.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.<br>• At least 2 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance, with strong exposure to cost accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close activities.<br>• Experience in manufacturing cost accounting, including standard costing and cost variance analysis, is required.<br>• Proven ability to interpret financial and operational data and present findings in a way that is clear to teams at different organizational levels.<br>• Strong analytical skills with careful attention to detail and the ability to investigate discrepancies and performance issues thoroughly.<br>• Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional partners and support financial accountability within an operations environment.<br>• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required; experience with enterprise financial systems is preferred.<br>• Prior experience in plant finance, controller support, or a manufacturing, food, or consumer packaged goods setting is preferred.
