We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join a hospitality management company based in San Diego, California. This is a Contract position offering an exciting opportunity to work with a portfolio of over 50 hotels and restaurants. Ideal candidates will excel in a fast-paced environment and bring experience in hospitality or restaurant accounting. Responsibilities:• Process and verify accounts payable for both corporate-level and property-specific expenses.• Conduct bank reconciliations and assist with reconciling credit card transactions.• Review daily revenue reports using accounting software addressing discrepancies and coordinating with property staff.• Handle balance sheet reconciliations, including prepaids and accruals, with the opportunity to expand responsibilities over time.• Provide training to property-level teams on accounting systems and procedures.• Support the integration of financial data and budgets for newly acquired properties into accounting system.• Collaborate on special projects such as financial clean-up, reporting improvements, and system transitions.• Work closely with corporate controllers and fellow accountants to ensure precise and timely financial reporting.

• Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in the hospitality or restaurant industry.• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work independently while following instructions.• Proven ability to manage multiple properties and adapt to evolving priorities.• Strong communication skills paired with a proactive and solution-focused attitude.• Expertise in corporate tax, sales tax, and corporate tax return preparation.• Proficiency in handling journal entries and maintaining the general ledger.• Availability to work onsite during the initial training period, with potential hybrid flexibility afterward.
