<p>We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll and Accounting Specialist to oversee accurate and timely payroll operations for a mid-sized workforce in California. This role is ideal for someone who is confident managing end-to-end payroll across multiple states, maintaining compliance, and supporting employees with payroll-related questions. The position requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><ul><li>Process biweekly payroll for 160+ employees, including timesheets, stipends, garnishments, and compliance with California labor laws.</li><li>Administer CalSTRS reporting, benefits enrollment, and contribution payments.</li><li>Handle accounts payable, employee reimbursements, and payroll-related journal entries in Sage Intacct.</li><li>Reconcile payroll balance sheet accounts and assist with month-end accruals.</li><li>Collaborate with HR to maintain employee records and produce workforce reports.</li></ul>
<ul><li>3+ years of full-cycle California payroll experience for 150+ employees.</li><li>Working knowledge of payroll accounting, AP, and general ledger functions; UKG and Sage Intacct preferred.</li><li>Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables and VLOOKUPs.</li><li>Strong understanding of California payroll regulations and CalSTRS reporting.</li><li>High school diploma required; accounting or business degree preferred.</li></ul>
