Network Engineer
We are looking for a Network Engineer to join a growing organization in Ohio as part of a contract-to-permanent opportunity. This role is ideal for a technically strong, detail-oriented individual who can take ownership of network performance, infrastructure reliability, and cybersecurity while supporting daily IT operations. The position will work closely with internal teams and external partners to improve systems, maintain compliance readiness, and deliver dependable technology support across the business.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Administer and maintain core infrastructure, including Microsoft 365 services, network environments, servers, user devices, and security platforms to support stable operations.<br>• Diagnose and resolve complex issues affecting connectivity, endpoints, and enterprise systems, ensuring minimal disruption to business activities.<br>• Advance device management initiatives by supporting the continued deployment of Intune and assessing tools such as Microsoft Purview for governance, compliance, and data protection needs.<br>• Partner with finance, compliance, and operational stakeholders to strengthen security practices and assist with audit readiness, corrective actions, and regulatory requirements.<br>• Coordinate with third-party vendors and managed service providers to maintain service quality, address technical concerns, and support ongoing infrastructure needs.<br>• Work alongside business and technical teams to support AS400-related processes and other critical business applications used throughout the organization.<br>• Identify opportunities to streamline reporting, administration, and operational tasks through tools such as PowerShell, Power BI, Power Apps, and related Microsoft technologies.<br>• Provide day-to-day guidance and technical leadership to a small IT team, helping prioritize work, develop skills, and maintain effective support coverage.
• At least 3 years of experience in network engineering, IT infrastructure, systems administration, or a related technical role.<br>• Strong hands-on knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration and support within a business environment.<br>• Experience with endpoint management, Intune, enterprise networking, and security technologies.<br>• Practical background working with Cisco networking technologies, including routers, Cisco ASA, Palo Alto firewalls, and Border Gateway Protocol (BGP).<br>• Proven ability to troubleshoot infrastructure and network issues methodically and efficiently.<br>• Experience collaborating with vendors, service providers, or managed support partners.<br>• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical teams and non-technical business stakeholders.<br>• Manufacturing industry experience, compliance-focused environment exposure, or familiarity with AS400 and Microsoft automation tools is preferred.
