Data Engineer
<p><strong><u>DATA ENGINEER</u></strong></p><p> -- <em>Job Type</em> = Permanent, Full-time Employment</p><p> -- <em>Job Location</em> = South Bay - Los Angeles, CA</p><p><br></p><p><strong><em><u>Job Summary</u></em></strong></p><p>This role is responsible for supporting the organization’s enterprise data systems, with a primary focus on modernizing and centralizing data architecture to enable scalable analytics and AI applications. Reporting to the VP of Business Insights and Analytics, this position will collaborate closely with teams across Sales, Marketing, and Technology to unify data from platforms such as: Azure Fabric, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Adobe Experience Platform, and Power BI. The Data Engineer will play a key role in transforming fragmented data sources into a cohesive, AI-ready foundation that drives strategic insights, operational efficiency, and new revenue opportunities.</p>
<p><strong><em><u>Responsibilities</u></em></strong></p><p> -- Collaborate with data architects and business stakeholders to assess our current data architecture and identify opportunities for consolidation and optimization.</p><p> -- Design and implement unified data models</p><p> -- Manage and optimize medallion architecture within Microsoft Fabric</p><p> -- Build and maintain Kafka topics and streaming pipelines to support near-real-time data ingestion.</p><p> -- Optimize data pipelines and storage solutions using Azure SQL DB, Azure PostgreSQL, Azure Cosmos DB, and Microsoft Fabric.</p><p> -- Ensure data quality, governance, and lineage across the data lifecycle. Embedding data privacy, security, and compliance in all workflows.</p><p> -- Build scalable, reusable data assets that serve as the foundation for AI/ML model development and advanced analytics.</p><p> -- Collaborate with data team partners to ensure data readiness for training, reporting, and real-time decisioning.</p><p> -- Support the development of documentation and best practices for an AI-ready data architecture.</p><p><br></p><p><strong><em><u>Background, Skills & Qualifications</u></em></strong></p><p> -- Self-starter and entrepreneurial spirit with hands-on approach towards resolving business objectives</p><p> -- Effective interpersonal skills, both oral and written</p><p> -- Ability to learn, contribute and thrive in a fast-growing, dynamic environment.</p><p> -- Demonstrated dedication with the ability to lead projects from origin through execution.</p><p> -- High level of personal integrity and professional ethics.</p><p> -- Effective decision-making skills while utilizing sound judgment.</p><p> -- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.</p><p> -- Proven experience as a Data Engineer with a focus on data architecture and pipeline development</p><p> -- Strong understanding of Data Lakehouse paradigms, medallion architecture, and modern data modeling practices.</p><p> -- Demonstrated ability to build and optimize streaming data pipelines using Kafka and related ecosystem tools.</p><p> -- Proficient in RESTful API architecture and integration with backend data systems.</p><p> -- Proficiency with: SQL, Python, and Apache Spark </p><p><br></p><p><strong><em><u>Hands-on Expertise</u></em></strong></p><p> -- Azure data services preferred (SQL DB, PostgreSQL, Cosmos DB, Fabric) OR GCP/AWS equivalence</p><p> -- Building Microservices and/or serverless data integration and transformation logic on cloud platforms (Lambda, Azure Functions, or equivalent)</p><p><br></p><p><strong><em><u>Nice-To-Haves</u></em></strong></p><p> -- Microsoft: D365 Commerce, D365 CRM</p><p> -- Adobe Experience Platform</p><p> -- Preparing data for AI/ML applications</p><p> -- Power BI or equivalence such as Google Looker</p><p> -- Data governance and compliance best practices</p>
