We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team on a contract basis south of Hartford. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing financial operations and ensuring accurate reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proficient in accounting processes, and has strong analytical skills. Responsibilities:• Oversee and maintain the general ledger to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.• Perform month-end closing activities, including preparing necessary reports and reconciliations.• Create and post journal entries while ensuring proper documentation and approval.• Conduct account reconciliations to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.• Use Excel for data analysis, reporting, and maintaining accurate financial records.• Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making.• Ensure adherence to internal controls and company policies during all financial operations.• Prepare financial statements and reports for management review.• Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries.

• Proven experience in managing general ledger operations and financial reporting. • Proficiency in performing month-end closings and preparing reconciliations. • Strong understanding of journal entries and their impact on financial statements. • Demonstrated ability to conduct accurate account reconciliations. • Advanced skills in Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
