IT Security Specialist
We are looking for an experienced IT Security Specialist to join our team on a long-term contract basis. This role involves assessing vendor security, supporting remediation efforts, and collaborating with procurement stakeholders to ensure compliance with security frameworks. While remote work is acceptable, candidates based in the United States are preferred, with optional on-site work in Cincinnati, Ohio.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Conduct thorough assessments of vendor security practices and identify areas for improvement.<br>• Manage remediation follow-ups to ensure compliance with established security standards.<br>• Coordinate and oversee project management activities related to third-party risk management.<br>• Collaborate with procurement stakeholders to strengthen relationships and ensure alignment with security objectives.<br>• Analyze technical responses from vendors and provide actionable recommendations for security enhancements.<br>• Apply knowledge of application security principles such as encryption, patching, and segregation of duties to evaluate risks.<br>• Utilize industry frameworks like ISO 27001 and SOC 2 to guide security assessments.<br>• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to present findings and propose solutions.<br>• Monitor cybersecurity measures to protect data privacy and file security.<br>• Stay updated on emerging trends in cyber governance and database security.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in third-party risk management and vendor security assessments.<br>• Strong familiarity with security frameworks such as ISO 27001 and SOC 2.<br>• Proven background in application security, including penetration testing and encryption techniques.<br>• Ability to interpret complex technical information and recommend effective remediation strategies.<br>• Excellent project management skills with a focus on communication and coordination.<br>• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles related to data privacy and database security.<br>• Understanding of cyber governance best practices.<br>• Capability to work remotely, with preference for U.S.-based candidates.
