We are looking for an experienced Technical Accounting Manager to join our team on a contract basis in Colorado. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting the company during its first financial statement audit, ensuring compliance and accuracy in all aspects of accounting and reporting. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex accounting challenges while collaborating with leadership to meet critical deadlines. Responsibilities:• Prepare and finalize audit-quality financial statements, including detailed cash flow statements.• Draft and refine technical financial disclosures, revenue recognition memos (ASC 606), and equity-related documentation.• Assist with complex accounting matters, such as mezzanine equity and derivative disclosures.• Partner with the Controller to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting for auditors.• Provide technical accounting support for opening balance sheet activities and research grant accounting related to government contracts.• Review and address compliance requirements based on gap checklists.• Manage accounting tasks related to long-term contracts, including construction and project-based businesses.• Oversee lease accounting and fundraising disclosures aligned with audit standards.• Reconcile accounts and prepare journal entries as part of month-end close processes.• Ensure compliance with ASC 606 and other relevant accounting standards.

• Proven experience in technical accounting roles, including financial statement audits. • Strong knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition principles and long-term contract accounting. • Ability to draft and refine financial disclosures, memos, and audit-related documentation. • Familiarity with complex accounting areas such as mezzanine equity and derivatives. • Proficiency in month-end close processes, general ledger management, and account reconciliation. • Expertise in preparing financial statements and supporting external audits. • Background in construction or project-based business accounting is highly desirable. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
