We are looking for a Network Engineer to help strengthen and scale a high-performance network environment supporting point-of-presence infrastructure, Layer 3 routing, and Layer 2 transport services in Brunswick, Georgia. This role focuses on hands-on engineering, operational reliability, and continuous improvement across routing, switching, and network resilience initiatives. The ideal candidate brings strong technical depth, sound troubleshooting skills, and the ability to support both day-to-day operations and long-term network growth. Responsibilities: • Configure, deploy, and maintain routing and switching platforms across data center and distribution network environments using Juniper, Nokia, or comparable technologies. • Support delivery of Layer 2 transport services to residential communities while maintaining stable and resilient Layer 3 routing at POP locations. • Contribute to network design and operational planning, including peering strategy, traffic optimization, and high-availability improvements. • Partner with architecture and technical leadership to expand BGP functionality and guide IPv4 and IPv6 implementation efforts. • Establish and maintain monitoring, alerting, technical documentation, and maintenance procedures to improve operational readiness. • Participate in scheduled maintenance activities and an on-call rotation, responding to service disruptions and helping drive corrective actions after incidents. • Troubleshoot network performance and connectivity issues across complex Layer 2 and Layer 3 environments to minimize downtime. • Support failover, redundancy, and resiliency initiatives that improve service continuity across the network footprint.

• Bachelor’s degree in Network Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in Layer 2 and Layer 3 network operations. • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in network engineering, ideally within ISP, telecom, or large-scale enterprise environments. • Strong working knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking concepts, including VLANs, QoS, routing protocols, and troubleshooting methodologies. • Experience with BGP in production environments; familiarity with additional carrier or enterprise routing protocols is a plus. • Exposure to TP-Link Omada, Ubiquiti, Eero, or similar networking platforms, with the ability to learn new vendor technologies quickly. • Demonstrated ability to create accurate technical documentation and follow disciplined change management practices. • Comfortable lifting and moving network hardware up to 50 lbs, including switches, routers, optics, and rack accessories.
