Cloud System Administrator
<p>The Cloud System Administrator will support production and lower-level AWS environments running Linux, as well as Google Workspace, with future support for Azure environments. This role collaborates closely with Configuration Management, Business Analysts, QA, and developers to ensure secure, stable, and successful solution delivery.</p><p>The Cloud System Administrator serves as a technical expert for Linux within the DevOps teams and supports incident and problem management for Windows and Google environments. Key responsibilities include partnering with the change management team on backup, patching, and support processes. The Cloud System Administrator is also responsible for analyzing and presenting performance metrics for Linux environments and plays a vital role in tools integration.</p><p><br></p><p><strong><u>Responsibilities:</u></strong></p><ul><li>Analyzes business needs and identifies possible opportunities.</li><li>Creates and maintains a customer database.</li><li>Facilitates communication between client and customers (non-state entities, including, but not limited to counties, cities, authorities, citizens, private colleges, universities, and businesses) to assist them in improving products/services, to build relationships, and to increase customer satisfaction.</li><li>Thoroughly reviews relevant data and reports of customers’ activities in order to develop/ implement improvements.</li><li>Assists in identifying new product and service offerings to market.</li><li>Identifies and contacts key stakeholders; penetrates market and introduces product/service offerings.</li><li>Evaluates, analyzes, and determines the appropriate product/service offering opportunities. Has knowledge of client’s services and initiatives.</li><li>Identifies trends from customer interaction which could lead to potential new products for client</li></ul>
<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications: </strong>Associate’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field <strong>AND </strong>Seven (7) years of system administration experience in Linux and/or Unix <strong>WITH </strong>Five (5) years’ experience working with cloud infrastructure, including provisioning, configuration, and monitoring. At least one relevant cloud certification (e.g., AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Azure Administrator Associate, or Google Associate Cloud Engineer).</p><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p><p><strong>Cloud & Infrastructure Experience</strong></p><p>• Five (5) years supporting AWS cloud infrastructure in commercial or government environments</p><p>• Hands-on experience with AWS services such as CloudWatch, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, Route 53, and Certificate Manager</p><p>• Familiarity with Azure, Google Workspace, and multi-cloud infrastructure management</p><p>• Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible)</p><p> </p><p><strong>Networking & Security</strong></p><p>• Working knowledge of AWS networking (NAT, NLB, ALB)</p><p>• Experience editing IAM policies (JSON), managing external certificates, and compliance validation in AWS</p><p>• Familiarity with Active Directory integration and MFA solutions (e.g., Okta)</p><p> </p><p><strong>Scripting, Automation & Infrastructure as Code</strong></p><p>• Proficiency in shell scripting or languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash</p><p>• Experience configuring sudo scripts</p><p>• Scripting/automation with Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools (preferred)</p><p>• Design and implement infrastructure as Code using Terraform for provisioning AWS resources</p><p> </p><p><strong>Operations & Monitoring</strong></p><p>• Experience in cloud-based system administration for Linux and Windows environments</p><p>• Application and infrastructure monitoring, support, and optimization</p><p>• Proven ability to analyze AWS billing data and recommend cost-saving strategies</p><p> </p><p><strong>Certifications</strong></p><p>• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional</p><p>• Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional</p><p>• AWS Advanced Networking Certification</p><p> </p><p><strong>Other Tools</strong></p><p>• Experience with Bitbucket, AWS Code* suite (e.g., CodePipeline, CodeDeploy)</p><p>• Google Workspace configuration and support</p>
