RPA Engineer job description

Robotic process automation (RPA) engineers design, develop and implement automation solutions that streamline business processes and improve operational efficiency. This role requires a strong background in software development, process analysis and automation tools. RPA engineers work closely with cross-functional teams to identify automation opportunities, build scalable bots and support digital transformation initiatives.

Typical RPA engineer duties:

Design and develop RPA solutions using platforms such as UiPath, Blue Prism or Automation AnywhereCollaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to identify and assess automation opportunitiesCreate detailed process documentation, solution design documents and technical specificationsBuild, test and deploy bots that automate repetitive tasks and workflows across departmentsIntegrate AI capabilities—such as machine learning models, natural language processing engines and computer vision—into RPA workflows to enable intelligent automation Monitor and maintain RPA solutions to ensure performance, reliability and complianceTroubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actionsIntegrate RPA tools with enterprise systems, databases and APIsSupport continuous improvement by identifying enhancements and optimizing existing automationsStay current on RPA, AI and intelligent automation trends and recommend innovative solutions to improve business outcomes
