Property Accountant
<p>Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Property Accountant for a 2-month contract to manage full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of 9 commercial properties (130+ tenants). If you are experienced with commercial portfolios and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we encourage you to apply.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p> </p><ul><li>Prepare month-end financial statements and management reports (variance analysis, account reconciliations) for assigned properties</li><li>Management fee billings, rent roll billings, and tenant chargebacks</li><li>Tax filing and remittances (GST, PST, non-resident instalments)</li><li>Cash-flow preparation and monthly distributions</li><li>Track capital expenditures and address monthly variances</li><li>Oversee accounts receivable and assist with tenant queries</li><li>Prepare year-end working papers and liaise with auditors</li><li>Complete annual CAM and tax recovery reconciliations and billings</li><li>Support annual property budgeting and forecasting</li><li>Manage lease data entry and amendments (Yardi Voyager experience preferred)</li><li>Maintain organized property accounting documentation</li><li>Assist with special projects (property acquisitions, sales, etc.) as required</li></ul><p><br></p>
<ul><li>Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)</li><li>At least 2 years’ experience in commercial property accounting</li><li>Demonstrated ability to manage multiple properties</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (required)</li><li>Yardi Voyager experience (Bonus)</li><li>Ability to work both independently and collaboratively</li><li>Strong organization and communication skills</li><li>Detail oriented, able to meet deadlines, and comfortable handling multi-tenant portfolios</li></ul><p><br></p>
