HR Generalist
<p>We are seeking a dynamic Human Resources Generalist to join our client’s team on a 6-month contract. This role will have a primary focus on recruitment, while also supporting HR initiatives in onboarding, employee engagement, HRIS administration, performance management, health & safety, and payroll/benefits programs. The successful candidate will help drive consistent, compliant, and engaging HR practices in a confidential and professional environment.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><p><strong>Recruitment & Staffing</strong></p><ul><li>Perform full-cycle recruitment, delivering an exceptional candidate and employee experience throughout all recruitment and selection touchpoints.</li><li>Work with hiring managers to define resourcing needs, update job descriptions, coordinate interviews, and support the selection process.</li><li>Manage the applicant tracking system and ensure compliance with applicable employment laws.</li><li>Represent the company at job fairs and industry events, and build a strong pipeline by networking with educational and industry partners.</li></ul><p><strong>Onboarding/Offboarding</strong></p><ul><li>Deliver a seamless onboarding experience, including orientation, paperwork, and initial training.</li><li>Coordinate employee offboarding, ensuring smooth exit processes and documentation.</li><li>Conduct onboarding check-ins and exit interviews; report findings to business leaders.</li></ul><p><strong>Employee Engagement, Culture & HR Programs</strong></p><ul><li>Design and implement programs to boost morale, satisfaction, recognition, and retention.</li><li>Organize regular training workshops and employee events.</li><li>Mediate minor workplace conflicts and investigate concerns fairly and promptly.</li><li>Champion initiatives to create a diverse, inclusive, and positive workplace.</li></ul><p><strong>Performance Management & Compensation Support</strong></p><ul><li>Support execution of the annual performance management process.</li><li>Advise managers on goal-setting, feedback, and development planning.</li><li>Assist in job competency framework creation and market salary analyses.</li></ul><p><strong>HRIS & Administration</strong></p><ul><li>Maintain data integrity and accurate employee records in Humi (HRIS); train staff as needed.</li><li>Develop efficient workflows for HR processes within the system and test new features.</li><li>Support payroll processing and benefit program administration, answering employee inquiries.</li></ul><p><strong>Policy & Compliance</strong></p><ul><li>Update and enforce HR policies in line with federal, provincial, and local employment legislation.</li><li>Advise managers on compliance and company policy matters.</li></ul><p><strong>Health & Safety</strong></p><ul><li>Oversee implementation of health and safety policies; support emergency preparedness and response.</li><li>Provide training and guidance to employees and leadership.</li></ul><p><br></p>
<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.</li><li>3–5 years’ HR experience, with strong exposure to recruitment, program management, and engagement.</li><li>Solid knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.</li><li>Experience with HRIS platforms (Humi experience an asset).</li><li>Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality.</li><li>HR certification (CPHR, CHRP, SHRM-CP, or equivalent) is considered an asset</li></ul><p><br></p>
