Responsibilities include: • Support the monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reporting process including the review of reconciliations, working papers and journal entries, etc. • Prepare and review financial analysis (i.e. variance analysis, trend analysis, and financial performance metrics) to identify key insights and drivers impacting the company's financial results. • Identify and resolve complex financial and operational issues that arise. • Participate in financial projects as required including system testing, data validation to ensure accuracy and functionality and help provide actionable insights and recommendations • Support the annual budget and forecast process, as required. • Provide ad-hoc research and analysis to drive informed decision-making for senior management. • Complete other ad-hoc job-related duties as assigned A great candidate for this position will have: • CPA designation required • At least 3 years of post-qualification in financial analysis and reporting • Experience working with sophisticated ERP system with multiple integrations and Business Objects is an asset. • A quick learner with strong problem-solving skills • Solid knowledge of financial accounting terms and concepts • Strong project management skills and understanding of business processes • Ability to provide an innovative perspective to current practices • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word is required • Excellent analytical and strategic thinker with good written and oral communication skills • Previous experience Financial Services or Insurance industry experience is an asset • Knowledge of IFRS 17 is an asset • Ability to balance multiple assignments, both immediate and strategic, at the same time • Proven ability to embrace change and adapt to new technology
