We are looking for a detail-oriented Buyer to join our team on a contract basis in Hamilton, Ontario. In this role, you will play a vital part in managing procurement processes, ensuring compliance with policies, and maintaining accurate records. The position involves collaborating with property managers, contractors, and finance teams to support operational needs and deliver high-quality service.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Create and issue purchase orders for contractor services and supplies, ensuring accurate codes and account details.<br>• Monitor adherence to purchasing policies and procedures to maintain compliance.<br>• Update purchase orders based on approved changes and communicate modifications to relevant stakeholders.<br>• Coordinate invoice preparation for tenant back charges in collaboration with internal departments.<br>• Resolve invoice discrepancies by liaising with contractors and ensuring proper documentation.<br>• Track and confirm delivery schedules to ensure timely completion of orders.<br>• Verify completion of work or delivery of supplies with property managers and match invoices to purchase orders.<br>• Maintain accurate records of purchase orders and invoices in SharePoint for organizational tracking.<br>• Assist in preparing procurement reports for senior management as required.<br>• Provide backup support for accounts payable processes during absences or peak periods.
<p>• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role.</p><p>• Proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, with experience in ERP solutions and Yardi.</p><p>• Strong understanding of vendor management, pricing strategies, and supplier negotiations.</p><p>• Familiarity with materials handling and inventory management processes.</p><p>• Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities.</p><p>• Ability to communicate effectively with contractors, property managers, and internal teams.</p><p>• Keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy in purchase orders and invoices.</p><p>• Competence in Microsoft Office applications and database management tools.5</p>
