- We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support indirect tax activities for a manufacturing organization based in Pickering, Ontario. This Long-term Contract position focuses on sales and use tax compliance, reporting accuracy, and coordination with internal teams to meet multi-jurisdictional obligations. The successful candidate will bring a strong accounting foundation, sound judgement, and the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Prepare and submit indirect tax filings, including sales, use, and personal property tax returns, in accordance with monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting schedules.<br>• Review tax calculations and arrange remittances to ensure payments are completed accurately and on time across various jurisdictions.<br>• Monitor legislative and regulatory updates affecting indirect tax and apply those changes to ongoing compliance processes.<br>• Reconcile tax-related accounts, investigate variances in the general ledger, and maintain reliable supporting documentation.<br>• Coordinate audit support by compiling records, responding to information requests, and helping resolve assessments or notices from tax authorities.<br>• Administer resale and exemption certificate records by gathering, validating, and retaining required documentation.<br>• Work closely with Accounting, Finance, Legal, IT, and commercial teams to address tax questions and assess implications for business activities.<br>• Contribute to process improvements and support tax-related system or workflow updates when required.

- <p>Our client a dynamic real estate company based in central GTA has a current opening for a Sr. Accountant. The Senior Accountant is responsible for financial planning & analysis, the preparation of yearly and quarterly corporate financial statements, reports and tax returns for compliance and other special reports as required. As a Senior Accountant, they will act as a mentor to their colleagues and provide direction to departments on accounting and reporting issues. </p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Produce annual and quarterly financial statements, regulatory filings, tax submissions, and other financial reports required for compliance and business needs.</p><p>• Assemble year-end working papers and supporting documentation in Caseware to facilitate an efficient close and reporting process.</p><p>• Lead the development of the annual budget, monitor results against plan each month and quarter, and prepare updated forecasts based on business performance.</p><p>• Create quarterly reporting materials for executive leadership and the Board of Directors, highlighting financial results and key trends.</p><p>• Prepare monthly cash flow reporting to support financial planning and operational decision-making.</p><p>• Review and authorize month-end deliverables, including reconciliations, journal entries, receivables, payables, and banking activity.</p><p>• Participate in corporate tax planning initiatives and help carry out approved tax strategies in partnership with relevant stakeholders.</p><p>• Advise cross-functional teams on accounting treatment, reporting expectations, and financial controls while supporting process improvements and special projects.</p><p>• Liaise with internal teams and external parties to resolve accounting questions, and review returns prepared by other accounting staff for accuracy and completeness.</p>
