Technical Writer
<p>Robert Half is recruiting for a Technical Writer for a client in the real-estate industry in Toronto, Ontario. This is a contract for 3 months, working hybrid in the downtown Toronto office. In this role, you will focus on creating clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation tailored to enterprise applications, software platforms, and operational workflows. As part of a dynamic and collaborative environment, you will contribute to improving organizational communication standards while supporting cross-functional teams in their documentation needs.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><ul><li>Research, write, and maintain comprehensive documentation for enterprise applications, software platforms, and operational workflows.</li><li>Simplify complex technical concepts into user-friendly manuals, guides, and reference materials.</li><li>Collaborate with developers, engineers, and business teams to gather and validate content for accuracy.</li><li>Standardize documentation formats using established templates and style guides.</li><li>Edit and review documents for grammar, clarity, and consistency before publication.</li><li>Manage a centralized documentation repository and maintain version control processes.</li><li>Draft internal communication materials, including memos, newsletters, and strategic updates.</li><li>Provide ad-hoc technical writing and communication support to senior managers and project teams.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, English, Journalism, or a related field; degrees in Computer Science or Engineering with writing experience are acceptable.</li><li>5 years of experience in technical writing, ideally within software development, IT operations, or enterprise systems.</li><li>Proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Visio, and other documentation platforms.</li><li>Strong understanding of organizational communication principles and stakeholder engagement.</li><li>Experience with content management systems and version control practices.</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.</li><li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.</li><li>Strong organizational and analytical skills with an inquisitive and proactive mindset.</li></ul>
