<p>We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead high-performing development teams within a fast-paced environment in Toronto, Ontario. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for a leader who can balance people management, technical oversight, and delivery accountability across web, mobile, and cloud-based platforms. The successful candidate will guide cross-functional collaboration, strengthen engineering practices, and help drive reliable platform performance while delivering complex initiatives from planning through launch.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Provide day-to-day leadership to software engineering teams, fostering accountability, collaboration, and technical excellence across multiple workstreams.</p><p>• Coach and support developers through regular check-ins, performance discussions, and development planning to encourage long-term growth and engagement.</p><p>• Oversee the delivery of Agile application development initiatives, ensuring projects progress effectively from initial kickoff through production release.</p><p>• Coordinate complex cross-platform programs by aligning engineering efforts with business priorities, timelines, and stakeholder expectations.</p><p>• Manage platform operations alongside application development activities, including production oversight, alert monitoring, and issue response.</p><p>• Promote consistent engineering standards, quality practices, and continuous improvement across development and QA processes.</p><p>• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders in different teams and time zones to resolve challenges, maintain momentum, and support informed decision-making.</p><p>• Contribute to hiring efforts by participating in recruitment, interviews, and onboarding for new engineering talent.</p>

<p>• 10+ years of progressive experience in software development, including substantial hands-on technical work.</p><p>• At least 3 years of experience leading software development teams in an Agile delivery environment.</p><p>• At least 3 years of experience delivering technology projects with accountability for scope, timelines, and execution.</p><p>• Strong background in web, mobile, backend, and cloud-based application development.</p><p>• Experience managing platform operations, including production support, monitoring, and incident handling.</p><p>• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.</p><p>• Demonstrated ability to operate independently across multiple teams, apply sound judgment, and provide thoughtful technical leadership.</p><p>• Experience with tools and technologies such as Android development, Jira, C++, cloud technologies, QA management, and Agile Scrum is considered an asset.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Our specialized recruiting professionals apply their expertise and utilize our proprietary AI to find you great job matches faster.</strong></p>
