<p><br></p><p>Our client a well established public accounting firm in the Barrie area has an excellent opportunity for a Manager, Non-Assurance to join their firm in a leadership capacity. </p><p>The Manager, Non-Assurance is responsible for overseeing financial statement preparation, tax compliance, and advisory services for private corporations and owner-managed businesses. This role combines technical expertise in accounting and taxation with client relationship management and team leadership.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Review year-end financial statements for private enterprises in accordance with applicable accounting standards (ASPE)</li><li>Review corporate income tax returns (T2) and personal tax returns (T1), ensuring accuracy and compliance during tax season</li><li>Develop and assess owner-manager compensation strategies, including optimal salary vs. dividend structures</li><li>Prepare and review tax reorganization transactions, ensuring alignment with accounting presentation and tax disclosure requirements</li><li>Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff, including reviewing work, answering queries, and supporting skill development</li><li>Manage communications with tax authorities (CRA and relevant provincial bodies), addressing client inquiries, audits, and reassessments</li><li>Conduct tax research and draft clear, practical recommendations on tax compliance and planning matters for private corporations and individuals</li><li>Oversee preparation of tax planning documentation and collaborate with legal counsel on corporate reorganizations and estate planning matters</li><li>Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on financial and tax matters</li></ul><p><br></p>

<p><strong>Qualifications &amp; Experience</strong></p><ul><li>CPA designation (or equivalent)</li><li>5–8+ years of experience in a public accounting firm, with strong exposure to private company services</li><li>Advanced knowledge of ASPE, Canadian corporate and personal tax</li><li>Experience with tax reorganizations and owner-manager planning preferred</li><li>Strong leadership, communication, and client management skills</li></ul><p><br></p>
